Shazam felt like an actual 14 year old wrote it. It had some really funny parts, and some not so good parts. It also had a lot of plot holes and inconsistent aspects in the story that personally really bugged me.
The first thing was that the mom just left him and they couldn’t find her. Even if her son was unwanted by her, they could have easily found her. She just went by her maiden name. It just seemed like the police gave up. Also she was supposed to be 17 when the main character Billy was like 4, and she was married at the time or divorced. But, she looked 35 and you have to be 18 to get married.
Another thing is that at the beginning Billy is a total jerk and is really mean to the foster kids and his foster parents, but then he becomes a really nice person. People don’t really change that much.
But all of the cast was very good. His foster family, especially Darla (played by Faithe Herman) and Freddy (played by Jack Grazer), made the audience want to be a part of the foster home. Overall it was a cute movie, that made you want to watch the original TV show. It was also a great adaptation, they made it very 2019 (basically they added smart phones and going viral).
